Scan business cards into your network, not into a list

Business card scanner apps do one thing well: they turn a photo into a contact. Then the card goes in a drawer and the person goes in a list, often twice, with no company attached and no memory of where you met. Salesgram reads the card and puts the person where they belong in the network you already have.

How it works

It works in your phone's browser, on iPhone and Android, with nothing to install. The photo is used only to read the card and is not kept.

  • On your phone, tap Add, then Business card: the camera opens. On a computer, upload a photo.
  • Salesgram reads the name, role, company, email, phone and website. Anything without its own field (a second number, the address, a legible handwritten note) goes into the notes.
  • Review the fields next to the photo and fix anything that's off: on a business card, one letter of an email is easy to misread. Nothing is saved without this step.
  • Type where you met only once: it carries over to the next cards, so at a trade show you don't retype it at every booth.

When the person is already in your network

It happens more often than you'd think: someone you imported from LinkedIn months ago, without an email, hands you their card at an event. Any other scanner creates a second contact.

Salesgram recognizes them by email, LinkedIn profile or first and last name, and offers to update their profile. It adds only what was missing and never overwrites what you wrote. If it's someone else with the same name, you save them as a new person.

The company and the event, already linked

The company on the card is linked to the person: an existing one if you have it, otherwise a new one with the printed website. The event stays as where you met, so weeks later you still know who you met at that trade show.

That's what actually keeps business cards organized: not a folder of scans, but people connected to their companies and to the moment you met them.

Then the context, one confirmation at a time

These steps are optional. They're what lets Salesgram show you, weeks later, which of the people you met should talk to each other, and who can introduce them.

  • LinkedIn profile: if it isn't printed, Salesgram looks up people with that name and puts first the ones who mention the company on the card. You pick the right one, because people share names.
  • Company website: taken from the card or from the company email domain, checked to make sure the page mentions the company, and saved only when you confirm. The AI can then read it and suggest a description, industry and services.
  • Tags: from the role, company and profile together, the AI suggests tags and you choose which to keep.

Good to know

  • One card at a time: batch scanning of a whole stack isn't available yet.
  • Reading depends on the photo: good light, card straight and filling the frame.
  • Contacts export to CSV from the settings and open in Excel.

FAQ

Is there a free business card scanner app?

Salesgram is free to start and reads business cards from your phone's browser. It also recognizes people you already have, links the company and remembers where you met.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes, in your phone's browser: tapping Business card opens the camera. There's no app to install.

What happens if I scan the card of someone I already have?

Salesgram recognizes them by email, LinkedIn profile or first and last name and updates their profile with only the missing details, without creating a duplicate or overwriting anything.

Is the photo of the card stored?

No. It's used only to read the details, which you review before saving. The profile keeps the details, not the image.

Can I export scanned business cards to Excel?

Yes. Contacts export to CSV from the settings, and the file opens in Excel or Google Sheets.
